PWG acts as a dual mode mobile phone offering seamless voice and data connectivity to multiple communication networks viz. GSM/GPRS, WiFi and VoIP. To access these networks and use the features offered, users can make use of existing Bluetooth enabled PDA/Notebook devices.
Bluetooth
- Bluetooth is used as front-end connectivity between PDA and PWG. Using Bluetooth, PWG can be used to make/receive calls, browse internet and for configuration purposes
- Data transfer between PDA and PWG is done using Bluetooth Serial Port Profile.
- Dial-Up Networking profile connects PDA to either GPRS or WiFi networks thus enabling internet browsing on PDA
- Headset profile (HSP) connects to PWG and can be used to make/receive calls from GSM or VoIP. It also has a feature of transferring a call to or from a PDA
- Cordless telephony profile (CTP TL) has been implemented to make use of a third party network through any standard CTP Gateway
- Secured connection between all connected Bluetooth devices using Bluetooth pairing
